1987:  Following a massive political protest in the Philippines, President Ferdinand Marcos and his entourage flew into exile. On 25 February, the 31 ARRS used five H-3 Jolly Green Giant helicopters to evacuate President Marcos and 51 other people from the Presidential Palace in Manila to Clark AB. A C-9 Nightingale then flew Marcos and his family to Guam. The next day, two C-141s and a C-9 carried Marcos, his treasure chest, and his entire entourage to Hickam AFB.
