1969: As of 6 January, the 1,000th Northrop T-38 Talon aircraft is delivered for USAF service. The T-38 Talon is a tandem two-seat, twin-engine supersonic jet trainer. It was the world’s first, and the most produced, supersonic trainer. The T-38 remains in service in several air forces.
