On This Day in History / December 13, 2022 1951: During two “Mig Sweeps,” Maj. George Davis, Jr., commander of the 334th FIS shoots down four enemy aircraft over Mig Alley. Maj. Davis is shot down and killed on 10 Feb 1952, but not before he tallied 14 kills. He receives the Medal of Honor posthumously for his actions in 1952. He was also an ace in World War II.
