On This Day in History / December 6, 2022 1950: The 27th Fighter Escort Wing, flying F-84 Thunderjets, accomplish combat missions over Korea and return to Japan. The F-84 was the first inflight refueling capable fighter and was the first jet used as a “Thunderbird” demonstration aircraft.
