2001: Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Two C-17s also airdropped about 35,000 humanitarian rations over eastern and northern Afghanistan. The two airdrops were the C-17’s first combat missions, first combat airdrops, and first humanitarian airdrops of ENDURING FREEDOM.
